ABOUT THE BOOK
The Kashmir problem is regarded as the root cause of conflict between India and Pakistan. The dispute arose when both these states acquired Dominion Status and the Indian states including Kashmir became independent according to the provisions of Indian Independence Act, 1947. Since then, many steps have been taken to resolve the dispute, but the problem remains unsettled. It is indeed a tragedy in the Indian sub-continent.
This laudable work by our distinguished author, Dr H.O. Aggarwal, highlights this important issue with special focus on legal aspects of the problem. Some important instruments in relation to the Kashmir Problem, for instance The Treaty of Amritsar, Instrument of Accession, the Boundary Agreement between Pakistan and China, Tashkent Declaration and Simla Accord have been mentioned in Appendices. The book shall serve as an excellent academic for researcher scholars and academicians having interest in this issue. |
